On the 30th November 2016 Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union members overwhelmingly voted for the Credit Union to change our name to Unity Bank.  As of 1 March 2017, Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union became Unity Bank.  Our division organisations also changed their names. Reliance Credit Union became Reliance Bank and Collie Miners Credit Union became Unity Bank.

On 2 June 2017, Bankstown City Credit Union became a divsion of Unity Bank changing name to Bankstown City Unity Bank (BCUB).

We remain a strong, member owned financial institution and continue to focus on providing great service and products to our members.

  • 1 July 2010 Gosford City Credit Union joined Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd catering for community members living on the NSW Central Coast.
  • 1 October 2010 Australian Country Credit Union Ltd trading as Reliance Member Banking became Reliance Credit Union a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd, catering for the central West of NSW.
  • 19 March 2015 Collie Miners Credit Union became a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.
  • 1 May 2015 Newcom Colliery Employees’ Credit Union joined Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.
  • 1 April 2016 Shell Employees' Credit Union joined Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.
  • 1 March 2017 Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd. changed name to become Unity Bank Ltd. 
  • 2 June 2017 Bankstown City Credit Union became a division of Unity Bank Ltd.

1970 Began as Waterside Workers’ of Australia Credit Union
1975 The ASOA (NSW) Credit Union special resolution re-participation in Waterside Workers of Australia Credit Union
1978 Name change to Waterside Workers of Australia Credit Union
1994 Name changed to Maritime Workers of Australia Credit Union
2008 Merged with Power Credit Union and changed name to become Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd
2010 1 July Merged with Gosford City Credit Union. Gosford City Credit Union became a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.
2010 1 Oct Merged with Australian Country Credit Union Ltd trading as Reliance Member Banking.
Reliance Credit Union became a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.

Power Credit Union

1958 Electricity Commission Employees Credit Union Co-operative – NSW is established
1964 Name is changed to Electricity Commission Employees Credit Union (ECECU)
1968 Wangi Power Station Employees Credit Union and Tallawarra Power Station Employees Credit Union joins ECECU
1991 Name is changed to Power Credit Union
2001 Hardie Employees Credit Union joins Power Credit Union
2008 Power Credit Union joins with Maritime Workers of Australia Credit Union to form Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.

Reliance Credit Union

1967 Torrens Credit Union established. Membership - employees of the Registrar General’s Office (now Land Titles Office /Department of Lands)
1982 Stamp Duties Credit Union (Est. 1968, Membership – employees of the Stamp Duties Office (now Office of State Revenue) joined Torrens Credit Union
1990 Gilbarco Employees Credit Union (Est. 1963) joined Torrens Credit Union. The Credit Union’s name is changed to Torrens-Gilbarco Employee’s Credit Union
1992 Landmark Credit Union (Est. 1961, Membership – employees of Department of Lands, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Land Information Centre) merges with Torrens-Gilbarco Employee’s Credit Union and the name changes to Reliance Credit Union
1993 Blue Circle Employees’ Credit Union (Est. 1971, Membership – employees of Blue Circle Southern Cement Ltd) joined Reliance Credit Union
1994 Mid West Credit Union joined Reliance Credit Union

1969 Bathurst District Local Government Credit Union is established
1972 Name is changed to Mid West Credit Union
1973 Bradwardine (Edgells) Staff Credit Union & Bathurst District Hospital Credit Union joined Mid West Credit Union
1976 Bathurst Postal Credit Union joined Mid West Credit Union
2010 Reliance Credit Union became a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd. 

Gosford City Credit Union

1965 Gosford Shire Council Employees Credit Union was formed
1976 The Bank followed Councils move into the new administration building & established an office on the second floor
1985 Online computer facilities were installed
1990 Member chequing introduced
1992 Membership opened to community members and Financial Institutions Legislation introduced
1996 Name changes from Gosford Shire Council Employees Credit Union to Gosford City Credit Union
2005 Bank moved out of the council building
2010 Gosford City Credit Union joined Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd.

Collie Miners Credit Union

1969 Registered - Collie Miners Co-operative Credit Union Society Limited - WA
1984 Name changed to Collie Miners Credit Union Limited
2015 Collie Miners Credit Union became a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd 

Shell Employees' Credit Union (SECU)

1963 Clyde Refinery Employees' Credit Union Co-Operative Limited NSW was formed
1964 Changed name to the Clyde Refinery Employees' Credit Union Ltd
1980 Merged with Pecten Credit Union
1988 Name changed to Shell Employees' Credit Union
1997 ATM installed at the Clyde Refinery
1998 Telephone banking introduced
1999 Moved to new offices within Shell NSW state office
2002 Internet Banking introduced
2009 New SECU office built at Clyde
2011 Shell announce that manufacturing will cease at Clyde refinery
2013 SECU celebrate 50 years of service to Shell Employees' and their families
2016 SECU joined Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union Ltd. 

Bankstown City Credit Union (BCCU)

2017 Bankstown City Credit Union became a division of Unity Bank.
